What continued success costs

There is more to a life than a career that keeps going well.

Continued success can quietly consume the very capacities that made it possible — precisely because performance keeps looking fine from the outside. Nothing has broken. Nothing has to be explained. And so the erosion goes unaddressed until it is visible to everyone.

Sheldon Strategic Consulting exists to protect and recover those capacities before that point. The work is for people with no interest in doing less — only in doing it without paying more than they should.

Judgment

The quality of decision that made the results possible in the first place.

Vitality

The physical reserve that everything else quietly draws down.

Presence

Being genuinely in the room — with clients, with colleagues, at home.

Clarity

Room to think, rather than only room to respond.

The approach

Work that begins while everything still looks fine.

01

Earlier than the breaking point

Most support for high performers arrives only after something visibly breaks — burnout, a health crisis, a public misstep. This work begins while the results are still excellent, because that is exactly when the cost is easiest to miss and least expensive to address.

02

A strategist's pace, not a wellness program

Senior strategic leadership inside global advertising and marketing, paired with decades of direct work in embodied performance, recovery, and high-stakes transition. The work moves with the precision of an advisor while understanding what the body and nervous system are actually carrying.

03

Confidential and application-only

Deliberately limited in how many clients Bonnie takes on at once, and built around the specific responsibilities of one person's real life — never a standardized curriculum.

04

Capacities treated as assets

Judgment, vitality, creativity, and presence are protected the way a strategist protects any resource too valuable to spend carelessly.

Founder

Bonnie Sheldon

Founder & President, Sheldon Strategic Consulting

Bonnie works with high-achieving leaders — founders, executives, physicians, attorneys and other recognized authorities — who find that while their results are strong, their ability to sustain those results is becoming prohibitively expensive.

She was part of Princeton University's first class of women, and began her career in senior strategic leadership roles in international advertising, marketing and public relations with Young & Rubicam Brands, Inc. She then became a minister — attending theology school and starting a ministry — and went on to serve as Vice President of the National Council of Churches' Committee on Disability, where she helped lead efforts to pass the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Since then she has worked with more than 9,000 clients navigating high-stakes performance, health and transition, including clients reached through the Wounded Warrior Project. She continues to consult on strategic work — most recently with the founding of the Greater Indiantown Community Alliance — and is a frequent speaker at leadership conferences and retreats.

Perspectives

What clients say about the work.

I came in assuming I needed to do less. What I actually needed was a different way of carrying it. Within a quarter the decisions that used to cost me entire weekends were taking an afternoon.
Elena Vasquez
Founder & CEO, Meridian Capital
Bonnie sees the thing you have been carefully not looking at, and then gives you something concrete to do about it. It is the most rigorous work I have done in twenty years of leadership.
Jonathan Reeve
Managing Partner, Reeve & Colby LLP
I was performing well and deteriorating quietly. The engagement gave me back judgment I didn't realize I'd lost — my board noticed before I did.
Dr. Amara Osei
Chief of Surgery, Eastlake Medical Center
This is not coaching and it is not therapy. It is strategy applied to the person making the strategy. Our firm treats it as a line item now, like legal or audit.
Marcus Whitfield
Executive Chairman, Whitfield Group
The frameworks are exacting, but the change feels quiet. Eighteen months on, my results are the same or better — the way I sustain them is unrecognizable.
Priya Ramanathan
Managing Director, Halcyon Partners
I've worked with advisors my entire career. Bonnie is the only one who treated my capacity as an asset on the balance sheet — and the only one whose work I still use daily.

Former CEO, Laurent & Fils
